Hey Everyone,
Well I've been contemplating on making a blog for my project for a while and well here it is. I intend to have this blog to record my drives, adventures, pictures, mods/ repair on my car and whatever comes along the way. Here is a back story for those that don't know me. Before having my current project I had a 1988 Mazda RX7 NA (which I named Project Sakura) I've had that car for about 3 years. But during my time of owner ship I'd say about 90% of the time it was spent in my garage because there was something wrong with the engine. My FC went through 2 engines before having a 3rd one placed in which at that time I just gave up and sold the car. I wish I got to enjoy the car more, but fearing that I might blow another apex seal or something I couldn't. After selling the car I went back to driving my trusty reliable Volkswagen Golf. During that time of driving the Golf again I searched the ads on craigslist looking for a Miata. After a week of searching I stumbled across an ad for a 1990 red Miata for $1000 the owner said it overheated and he just didn't have the funds to fix it. So I went by to look at the car. It had 160,XXX miles on it, the car had its share of dings, no radio, driver side fender has been replaced with a mismatched color one (but hey it is 20 years old can't expect everything perfect) so I purchased the car and since it wasn't drivable it had to be towed home. Interestingly enough the guy I bought the car from was related to a high school acquaintance of mine (small world eh?). Well when I got the car home my dad and I got to working on it. What my dad did for me was replace the piston rings, new head gasket, got the head cleaned off and so on. Within the week he got the car running. But during the first month of driving the car it was burning oil and I had to put at least 1-2 quarts of oil in every other day. So once again I had to get the whole engine rebuilt by boring out the cylinder heads by.20 and getting new piston heads and rings. Well Thanks to my dad who helped me out on everything so once again the car is back on the road. And for the last 2 months of owning it I've already put on 2,XXX miles on the car. Anyways the main project on this blog is my 1990 Mazda Miata MX-5 which I named Olivia (The name is taken from Olivia Munn from attack of the show). And I might have my Golf in here too as a side project. For the next post I will have a small list of my goals and such. Anyways i'm sure your getting tired from reading so here are some pics.
